Kingston, Ontario's HEADSTONES, who were one of the most commercially successful Canadian rock bands of the '90s and called it quits in 2003, did a handful of reunion shows back in February. They issued the following statement shortly after the run was complete:

"We have a lot of respect and admiration for those of you who embrace music/life so passionately, particularly diehard Headstones fans who seem to have an incredible amount of fucking heart, empathy and humour. We like you as people – a unique clan who are not big on authority AND have more than a passing interest in rebellion and defiance. We relate, we get it, we know that no matter how tough it gets we will always get back up – ALWAYS. Just a matter of time – no bullshit no excuses. You rock. Thank you all, it would of sucked without you."

The band has since released a new single entitled 'Binthiswayforyears', which is available for free download here, along with the following note:

"The above was written only hours after our last show at the sound academy. Make no mistake, you’ve kickstarted the machine. The next record is a direct result of that wave of interaction. You made us remember what the fuck it is we do."

Headstones released five albums during their career: Picture Of Health, Teeth And Tissue, Smile And Wave, Nickels For Your Nightmares, and The Oracle Of Hi-Fi.

In the years following the band's breakup, Headstones vocalist Hugh Dillon embarked on a successful acting career, starring in the television series Durham County and Flashpoint. Dillon also appeared in Trailer Park Boys: The Movie and does voice-overs for Canadian Chevrolet ads as well as commercials for Manulife One financial services.
