SAIGON KICK frontman Matt Kramer has issued the following update:

"I've got some big news around here for you! My second poetry book, titled A Book Of Poems From The Smallest Of Towns, will be released in late October / early November 2011. Stay posted for a concrete release date as well as a book release in South Florida, which will include a live musical performance and book signing."

Kramer recently launched an official Matt Kramer Music page on Facebook, found here. He has posted the first ever photo of the original band, featuring (left to right) Phil Varone (drums), Kramer, Jason Bieler (guitars), Tom Defile (bass).

Kramer also responded to a fan's comment about the amount of hair on display in the pic:

"We did sport some hair. Rock n roll to me was LED ZEPPELIN, BLACK SABBATH, CHEAP TRICK, THE CURE, KISS, LYNYRD SKYNYRD. They all had long hair and parents hated us long-haired boys because their daughters loved us so much. You couldn't get a decent job in those days. Most of the guys in the band were driving trucks and doing lawn service just so they could be rock n roll and say FTW. Remember, that was before all of the now branding of 'The Rock Star'. We didn't have Hot Topic and cool stores where it was as it is now normal to be a freak even bagging groceries. We were just a bunch of rock n roll boys. The cliche came later.

Then again, even the most avant garde becomes cliche before they become classic. Honestly, I'm glad we didn't look like all the nobody nerd faceless rockers that clog the airwaves and chatrooms these days. Lots of hair, but lots of balls to back it up. Until 'Love Is On The Way', of course. Then it all went to shit!"

Kramer updated the page with bootleg live footage of Saigon Kick performing 'Hostile Youth' in Cedar Rapids, IA in 2001 (found below), and the song 'Caught Up On The Inside', penned with LYNCH MOB / ex-DOKKEN George Lynch for an aborted project. The song is taken from Kramer's solo album War & Peas, issued in 2002.

Kramer: "So, my solo album War & Peas has been out since 2002. That's almost 10 years now. A lot of my Saigon Kick fans weren't sure if they would be betraying the fine SK by enjoying a solo push. Well, now that it's a classic rock album I will be giving you a chance to hear it by releasing a song every day or so on my music page. Stay heavy!!"

Musicians on 'Caught Up On The Inside' include Matt Kramer (all vocals), Jonathan Mover (drums), Miguel Gonzalez (bass) and Steve Gorden (guitars).
