Ex-TRANS-SIBERIAN ORCHESTRA violinist Anna Phoebe has checked in with the following update:

"Greetings!

It's been a while since the last newsletter, and a lot has happened!

Musically, I have been squirreling away with the Jurojin boys, working on material for a new album which we will start recording in November. We recently showcased a couple of the new tracks at Weyfest Festival, and will be playing two London shows before hibernating in the studio.

You can come see us play at The Bedford on September 27th, where we'll be onstage at 8.15pm. Entry is free.

For the full JUROJIN / Anna Phoebe experience come to The Borderline on October 1st, where we are supporting Finnish prog-rock band THE VON HERTZEN BROTHERS. Door are at 7pm, we're onstage at 7.45pm. Tickets are £14 at the door but I have a special £7 guestlist. Email me anna@annaphoebe.com if you want me to stick you on it!

I have also been finishing off the album with BYRON JOHNSTON, which will be a stripped back flamenco gypsy fusion album. The album will be finished by the end of the year and we'll start playing live shows from next spring.

In other news, many of you will be aware that JON LORD is currently undergoing treatment for cancer, and future concert dates have been put on hold. He is an incredible human being in every possible way, supported by amazing family and friends. He is truly a special man, and one of the most inspiring musicians I've worked with! As ever, he is upbeat and positive about the future and I have no doubt he will be back next year.

Onto personal news - those of you who came to Weyfest Festival or have seen the pictures, will have noticed the rounded belly :) My partner and I are very happy to announce that I'm pregnant - the baby is due before Christmas. Thank you for the kind emails and messages received so far! Pregnancy has been a wonderful experience so far - especially playing music with a little one inside you...she/he just has to learn to kick in time!!
