At the end of September, MÖTLEY CRÜE warned that they had no scheduled concerts anywhere in Indonesia in response to an article appearing in the Jakarta Globe on September 21st. The band distanced itself from the announcement, as no agreements for a show at Pantai Karnival in Jakarta or anywhere else in the country were ever made. A report by Tempo Interactive indicates that at least 1,500 tickets were sold to the rumoured Jakarta show at a cost of cost IDR 350,000 ($39 approx.):
Hundreds who bought tickets to Motley Crue's allegedly first ever concert in Indonesia were deceived. At least 1,500 tickets were sold, with hundreds of millions of rupiah in total value.
“I don’t know why [the concert] was cancelled,” said Dedi Supriadi, one of the ticket buyers from Salemba Tegalan, East Jakarta, met at the Jakarta Resort Police Headquarters on Monday. The ticket cost IDR 350,000.
Dedi said that plans to perform here in Jakarta suddenly vanished, when the concert had been scheduled for Oct. 8 at the Ancol Carnaval Beach, Jakarta. “We only believed the concert was going to be held because we’ve been to many concerts before,” said Dedi who purchased the ticket below official price.
