Indian progressive/experimental metallers GODDESS GAGGED will release their debut album, Resurfaces, at the NH7 Weekender on November 19th in Pune, India where the band will be performing. The album features seven tracks and was recorded and produced by Auckland based producer Zorran Mendonsa (THEM CLONES, INDUS CREED, DEMONIC RESURRECTION).
Artwork for the album was created by designer Venkat Raman from BHAYANAK MAUT.
Guitarist Devesh Dayal explained the concept behind the artwork: "We wanted to make sure our album cover reflected what goes on in our songs. There's an escape from darkness (the hole in the earth) and a guidance into light by the hand in the back. Working with Venkat Raman was awesome, he really brought the surreal imagery to life.”
Check it out below:
Tracklisting is as follows:
‘Modern Machines’
‘Rosemary's Baby’
‘Dreamer’
‘Inspire’
‘Visionary’
‘Sink Or Swim’
‘Preliminary Stages Of The Master Plan’

Guitarist Devesh Dayal offers part one of an album track-by-track commentary:
'Modern Machines': "When we were picking the order of songs for this record, the unanimous decision was to start it off with a bang. The intro has low-fi guitars with filtered vocals on top, creating a sonically empty and distant effect. Then the entire band kicks in with a massive riff that hits you in the face and continues into a syncopated section with Sunneith "Sunny" Revankar from Bhayanak Maut contributing vocals. We had an awesome time working with him and making our songs more brutal. Modern Machines continues on with a hooky chorus and a devastating breakdown at the end. It touches on almost every aspect of our sound on this album and sets the stage for the songs that follow."
'Rosemary's Baby': "This is the only song on this album that we really completely wrote together as a band. Arman came up with the opening riff and the basic idea for the verse/chorus, and then we all collectively put it together during rehearsal. As a result, this track is our most straightforward, and in my opinion most catchy song on the record."
'Dreamer': "The oldest track on the album. For a long time, an unpolished version of this was one of the few recordings online and was what people would listen to in order to get a taste of the band. It's the most chilled out song, placed near the middle of the album to give you a break from the first two tracks. A calm before the storm so to speak."
'Inspire': "The first song Arman and I wrote entirely together, though it went through many changes before becoming what you hear on this album. Zorran gave us the idea to add ambience to many parts, and it was all very tastefully layered. He also convinced us to discard a whole section that was ruining the flow. Now it's something we're really proud of and is definitely one of our favorite tracks."
'Visionary': "Probably the most popular song of ours. It was the last song we wrote for this album, and we put up a demo of it online which many people seemed to dig. It leans more to the post-hardcore side, and it's really energetic and catchy. This song also features Sunny on vocals."
The album is going to be limited to 1,500 physical copies and can be pre-ordered from this location.
