MANAHAN Gearing Up For Release Of New Single
November 5, 2011, 13 years ago
Keswick, Ontario-based shredders MANAHAN, featuring guitarist/vocalist Cory Manahan, are working on material for the follow-up to their debut album, Commence. Cory has checked in with the following update:
"The recording process is now done for the new single 'Today Is The Last Day', it will be released soon. The new direction is the most 'Manahan' sounding ever! I can't wait for everyone to hear it. I had a great time working with Michael Borkosky; he is a genius when it comes to melody, arrangements, tones and especially production. Stay tuned for the release!"BW&BK; scribe Carl Begai was given an unexpected sneak preview of some of the demo material and checked in with a brief overview:
"Commence was a strong record, and the demo material is a clear indication that Manahan isn't one of these flash-in-the-pan bands content with spewing out the same material while hoping and praying for a deal. The band has tightened up and refined their sound, the songs are loaded with hooks, there's a bigger focus on the clean vocals and melody in general, but the aggression of Commence remains intact. And, Cory's guitar tones are absolutely outstanding in the same way ZAKK WYLDE can be recognized from 10 miles away. Here's hoping the final recordings retain the grit and identity of what are an impressive collection of demo snapshots."Manahan released a video for the song 'Narcotic' earlier this year. The track is taken from their debut album, Commence, which is available worldwide through iTunes here.
