SHADED ENMITY Drummer Recovering Following Serious Car Accident - "It's Going To Take A Lot More Than A Bus To Stop Him"
November 17, 2011, 12 years ago
On November 16th at 6:00pm, drummer Simon Dorfman from Seattle’s SHADED ENMITY (left in the photo below) was in a serious car accident involving a Seattle transit metro bus. According to a band update, "the bus was traveling at over 40 mph when it struck his truck. Simon's truck was completely totalled by the ten-ton bus and he was taken to the hospital. More details to come. Your thoughts and condolences would be appreciated at this point."
Vocalist/guitarist Joe Nurre has since checked in with the following update on Dorfman's condition:
"We would like to thank everyone who has offered their support and condolences to Simon. He was discharged from the hospital and is at home resting. I spoke with him for a little bit and he is in good spirits, but understandably sore. The accident happened in front of our practice space. I arrived 15 minutes after the accident occurred to find the mangled and completely unrecognizable truck that had belonged to Simon. A metro transit bus t-boned his truck as he was turning into our practice space, sending his vehicle spinning into the rest of traffic. Paramedics came immediately and strapped him to a gurney and took him to the hospital. Simon is a tough guy and it's going to take a lot more than a bus to stop him. Once again, thank you all for your concern and well wishes, Simon appreciate them very much.
