The SAXON documentary, Heavy Metal Thunder - The Movie, will be screened at Yerba Buena Center For The Arts (701 Mission St.) in San Francisco, California on Friday, December 9th at 7:00 PM and 9:30 PM. Admission is $8 and tickets can be bought here.

The 120-minute film is described as follows:

The story of heavy metal monsters Saxon is a classic rock 'n/ roll saga, as five friends from the backstreets of Yorkshire set out to take on the world. This new documentary tells their story of 30 years of heartache, earache, success and excess. Though they never reached the popular success of other British new wave metal bands like IRON MAIDEN and MOTÖRHEAD, Saxon are now widely considered metal heroes. The very definition of a film made “for the fans,” it was entirely funded by donations from their rabid legion of followers.

Saxon lead singer Biff Byford sat down with BraveWords.com's Mitch Lafon before their show in Montreal on October 10th. The NWOBHM legends made a rare appearance on these shores in support of their latest album, Call To Arms. Check out the chat below:
