We will be counting down until New Year's some of the finest slabs of metal this past year had to offer, voted by the devout scribes here at BraveWords.com! What does "slab" actually mean? We're talking studio albums. No compilations, rerecordings, live albums etc… Just pure metal, all killer no filler!

10) MELIAH RAGE - Dead To The World (Metal On Metal)

Long-running Boston-based metallers MELIAH RAGE deliver the goods once again on Dead To The World, which featured versatile singer Paul Souza who returned to the band earlier this year. Founder Anthony Nichols explained the short-lived reunion with original screamer Mike Munro: "He has become very dedicated to his church and recently spent time volunteering in Haiti - he felt these and other missions of goodwill would not allow him the flexibility of schedule to tour with Meliah Rage."

So with Souza back on the mic, Dead To The World saw Boston's under-rated power metallers relive their fists with fury attitude, retaining their crown as one of the most consistent pugilists out there! The album sees the band aging gracefully with those always-memorable Nichols hooks and punchy rhythms.

When reached for comment about being one of BraveWords.com's top releases of 2011 the guitarist responded:

"I think that's MASSIVELY cool and unexpected!! After 20 years of making loud records.... sometimes I wonder if it's worth the effort to keep the thing going. Making a top ten list will erase those thoughts!"
