WHITESNAKE/WINGER guitarist Reb Beach has issued the following update:
"A Happy New Year to everyone!!! And what a year it was for me. Last year, I played 96 shows in over forty countries, from Saint Petersburg to Singapore. It was such a joy to perform for such ardent fans of music. The different cultures are so diverse and fascinating to me. I have seen things that I probably don’t appreciate enough. It’s possible that I didn’t actually see most of the things I saw. I have paintings in my house that I’ll say to myself 'I love that new painting', and come to find out that it’s been there for six years. And it’s a small house!
My instrumental solo record is just sitting where I left it, repute with hours of editing. Why don't I do that stuff when I am recording it? It's beyond me... Maybe it's beyond me to do that stuff while I am recording it! Hahahaha! It blows the vibe. A friend of mine sent me his old pro tools rig with a ton of great sounds and it's very inspiring!! I am on song number seven, and it all sounds great, but I can't wait to hear this stuff with real drums and bass. I am shooting for a May release.
Also, I am starting the year with an acoustic gig playing with my buddy Kip Winger! We are playing at the Alter Bar in Pittsburgh on February 9th. He has also invited me to be a counselor for VH1's Band camp, in Erie Pa. on the day before. I am SO excited because he is going to try and arrange for me to jam 'More Than A Feeling' with Barry Goodreau from BOSTON! How cool would that be! I am also going to meet Howard Leese from HEART. Come on! The guy played friggin' 'Barracuda'!
Then it’s off to beautiful Italy for a clinic tour. We are still firming up the dates, but it is looking like late February into March. I enjoy doing clinics very much. I tell stories and play my instrumental music.
So that’s it for now. If Whitesnake decides to do something this summer I will do that, if not perhaps we could do some Winger shows. I am also thinking about putting the Project back together for some local shows. We’ll see what happens!"
