According to the UK's The Sun, hard rock icons LED ZEPPELIN helped to raise £26 million to fund scholarships to Oxford University. The band reformed for a comeback concert in memory of music mogul Ahmet Ertegun in 2007.

The gig at London's O2 was their first for 19 years. Singer Robert Plant, guitarist Jimmy Page and bassist John Paul Jones were joined by the late John Bonham's son Jason on drums.

More than 20 million fans worldwide tried to buy £125 tickets to see the Stairway To Heaven idols. All proceeds from the gig went to Ahmet's education charity.

The donation - one of the biggest in Oxford's 900-year history - will help fund up to 35 scholarships in subjects such as art, music and language.

Oxford vice-chancellor Andrew Hamilton said: "The concert was a magnificent moment."
