WATER ON MERCURY Release Video For 'My Amphigory'
March 5, 2012, 12 years ago
Illinois-based progressive instrumental metal band WATER ON MERCURY has just release its first music video. The track, 'My Amphigory', is the first song released off the upcoming album, Amphigory. The song is a powerful and moving display of intense emotion and musicianship. The video is a meaningless montage of random clips and a bad poem. See for yourself below:
The video was entirely produced by Water On Mercury on a budget of approximately $24, which will become immediately apparent. 'My Amphigory' will set the stage for the intense musical journey to come in later months as Amphigory is completed. The track will be available as a single in the coming weeks on the band's Bandcamp page as a "name-your-price" download.
Water On Mercury is the instrumental music project of guitarist Tim Gavin. Tim is a family man with a day job as a CPA, but he has an undying passion for heavy music. This project is the culmination of years of writing and producing music at home.
Tim was a key member of the now defunct DOMINION from Chicago, which also featured former OTEP drummer, Brian Wolff, and current GEMINI SYNDROME vocalist, Aaron Nordstrom. Dominion was a force to be reckoned with on the Chicago metal scene. Tim brings the same intensity and musical intelligence to his new project. Having been compared to SCALE THE SUMMIT, TESSERACT, OPEHT, and CLOUDKICKER, the similarities do not end there. His influences are many and balanced to form a truly unique sound.
