Tate recently announced that he's begun recording his new solo album. A Facebook update reads as follows: "For those of you that I have met over the years that have asked about a new solo album, well ... I finally started tracking today. GT II is on its way. I'm very excited about this record and I'll be sharing a lot more info about it in the weeks to come."
Geoff Tate released his eponymous solo debut on DVD-Audio in 2003 and DualDisc in 2004 via Sanctuary Records. The DualDisc edition contained the album in 5.1 Surround sound, an interview, as well as other bonus multimedia content.
Geoff Tate - the album - hit the US Billboard Top Heatseekers chart at #22.
