Finland's NIGHTWISH has been nominated for an Echo Award in Germany in the category Rock/Alternative International. Other artists nominated in the same category include EVANESENCE, FOO FIGHTERS, NICKELBACK, and RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS.

The Echo Award is the German equivalent of a Grammy, and this is the band's second nomination for this prestigious award. They previously won in their category in 2008.

The event will be held this Thursday, March 22nd and is being broadcast live from Berlin. Go to this location for details (in German).

As previously reported, the band's new single, 'The Crow, The Owl And The Dove', has entered the Finnish single chart directly at #1. The single also features the previously unreleased song, called 'The Heart Asks Pleasure First' (theme from movie The Piano) in two different versions, including an instrumental one. 'The Crow, The Owl And The Dove' is featured in three versions: the radio-edit, album version and an instrumental.

To coincide with the start of their Imaginaerum World Tour 2012/2013, Nightwish is going to release a special Imaginaerum (Tour Edition) on April, 13th. It will be a two-CD+DVD Digibook in Slipcase.
