SLASH (VELVET REVOLVER, ex-GUNS N' ROSES) is currently in Toronto celebrating Canadian Music Week and promoting his upcoming solo album, Apocalyptic Love, due out on May 22nd. BraveWords.com sat with the revered guitarist for an extensive interview - that you will see in full later today - and discussed such topics as his love for the city, tonight's sold-out performance at The Phoenix Concert Theatre which kicks off the live activity for the new studio album, pre-show jitters, the gelling of his current band, working with such icons as MICHAEL JACKSON and ALICE COOPER and much, much more. The press were cautioned not to bring up the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame debacle and any mention of Guns N' Roses singer Axl Rose, but at the end of the chat Slash mentions that all the hoopla around the induction ceremony taking place April 14th in Cleveland, Ohio is being "blown out of proportion."

Looking at it another angle, as a fan it's bewildering why some of the forefathers of the hard rock scene - some if which that have influenced Slash himself like RUSH, KISS, MOTÖRHEAD, JUDAS PRIEST, IRON MAIDEN, YES, CHEAP TRICK, BAD COMPANY, JOURNEY and DEEP PURPLE just to name a few - aren't in the Hall and have been eligible for years. The list is endless and embarrassing.

"It seems unusually biased," Slash pipes in. "It's hard for me to get excited because it's something almost embarrassing to be called into something when the guys that were toiling around way before you got there - people's records you have - don't get in there."

But Slash confirms that he'll be attending the event.

Stay tuned for more later!
