Los Angeles power metal trio NINTH CIRCLE began recording the follow up to their 2008 release, The Power Of One, on February 4th at Ardent Audio Productions in Torrance, CA with Rich Wenzel at the helm engineering the drum tracks.

Now into their third month of recording, management confirm that the band is making great strides in the studio.

Bassist, Frank Forray offers an update to their current progress: "April is here and we have been working really hard on the new record. This is by far the quickest pace we have ever worked on an album. In February we completed drum and bass tracks. Dennis completed his rhythm tracks and began some vocal tracks in March. The album is really starting to take shape, but we still have a lot of work ahead of us.”

Ninth Circle is again working with producer Jeff Prentice (PREDATOR, OUTLAND) to create that distinct Ninth Circle sound.

“Jeff has really been pushing us, as he did with our last record, in order to bring out the best performances. He’s been impressed with the current group of songs we have written and it allows us a lot of interesting directions where we can take the new songs. The great thing about working with Jeff is he comes from a different direction than we do regarding songwriting and production. We’re pretty much the traditional NWOBHM / power metal and 80’s metal guys and he comes from world of STYX, REO SPEEDWAGON, JOURNEY, EARTH, WIND & FIRE, ISELY BROTHERS. So you get a really unique metal sound; power and melody.

“Back in the 90’s Jeff played a few shows with us as lead vocals / guitar so he understands where we are coming from and what we want to do with our records. Given his history with us, he makes the recording experience fun and brings out the best in us. So at this point, we’ve got a great foundation of new music that is guaranteed to be the best Ninth Circle record to date!”
