Tate recently spoke with Sean Derrick of Examiner.com, an excerpt follows:
SD: Your solo CD, Geoff Tate, came out in 2002, any plans for a second one?
GT: "Yeah. Actually we are recording that right now. I have all the songs written for it and started recording it about three weeks ago and I am in the midst of it. I am hoping to have it out by fall, that’s my goal."
SD: Cool. Now will that precede a new Queensrÿche record or will it follow it?
GT: "Queensrÿche will not be doing anything major for the rest of the year. Everyone is doing solo projects/side projects and we will re-group for 2013."
