WARBEAST (formerly TEXAS METAL ALLIANCE) have issued the following update:

“After weeks of intense auditions with some several talented musicians… Warbeast has finally made our decision on a new Bassist. Warbeast would like everyone to welcome Dre' Karst to our Warbeast lineup. Dre' is originally from New Orleans and moved to the D/FW area six years ago after the Hurricane Katrina disaster. That makes it seem even more appropriate because of the tight bond that many New Orleans and D/FW musicians have had going all the way back to the ‘80s. Not to mention that is where Housecore Records label owner Philip Anselmo is from - even though that didn’t have anything to do with the actual reasons we chose Dre' to join our band. We just think that is a cool connection to have. Dre' has been playing for over 20 years and thrash metal is in his blood. So he already fits in nicely with the rest of us. Dre' will be leaving with all of us next Saturday (May 5th) to head to Louisiana to record the second Warbeast album. Just like the debut Warbeast album, we will be recording it at Philip Anselmo’s studio Nosferatu’s Lair. Philip Anselmo will once again be the Producer for the album. We want to also take this time to thank the other bass players that came out to audition. It really was a tough decision that we took a lot of time to make. But we all felt that Dre was the right man for the job. So everyone please welcome Dre' Karst to the Warbeast family.”

Warbeast announced they were parting ways with original bassist Alan Bovee in March, due to family matters.
