Bangalore’s Fabled Palace Grounds To Ban Rock Shows?

hot flashes news

According to Bangaloremirror.com, Bangalore’s fabled Palace Grounds have hosted the biggest names in the rock and pop firmament like METALLICA, IRON MAIDEN, DEEP PURPLE, ROGER WATERS, ROLLING STONES and LAMB OF GOD. These mega concerts have attracted fans in their thousands, even from across the country. But all that could be a thing of the past if a move by the state government to impose a blanket ban on such shows at the Palace Grounds gets the Supreme Court’s nod.

According to official sources, the logic behind the ban is the traffic jams caused on Bellary Road whenever such concerts are organised at the Palace Grounds. Bellary Road is a major artery which connects the southern and central parts of the city to the international airport.

Speaking to Bangalore Mirror, a senior official said: “The file will be ready by the end of next week. It will have a detailed report on the vehicular density on Bellary Road, and how concerts and shows at the Palace Grounds create traffic jams there. Every time a concert is held there, people living in the southern and central parts of the city have to leave home at least four hours prior to flights departing from BIA. We are sure the apex court will respond favourably.”
