An exclusive interview with German metallers RUNNING WILD will air on Rich Davenport's Rock Show today (Thursday, June 7th, 9 - 11 PM UK on Totalrock.co , repeated Saturday, June 9th, 8 - 10 AM).

In the first hour, "Rock N Rolf" Kasparek discusses reforming the band and recording their new album, Shadowmaker, and chooses tracks to play on the show.

And in the second hour, guitar maestro Micki Free (ex-CROWN OF THORNS) will be talking about his latest album, Tattoo Burn, and his encounters with GENE SIMMONS and Bill Wyman (ROLLING STONE). Both Micki and Rolf also chose THIN LIZZY tracks for the shows weekly Phil Lynott tribute.

The show will be available for streaming on Mixcloud from Friday 8th June at this location.

Running Wild's Gates To Purgatory album (1984) will be the first from the band's catalog to be re-released (July 16th - UK/August 3rd - Germany) via Cherry Red Records.

Remastered and expanded, the release will include a special booklet containing sleevenotes written by Malcolm Dome and rare and never seen before photos of that long gone era of the band.

Kelley Simms from BraveWords.com spoke with Rock & Rolf Kasparek about being back on the pirate ship!

“I didn’t make any plans of which direction the record should go,” Rolf says about Shadowmaker. “But when I got the idea to do the album, I wrote the title 'Shadowmaker'. From the first track I knew it should be the title track because the title is really great. Shadowmaker is a new start ... the present heading into the future with no turning back on the past. This deals with the story of the Shadowmaker concerning old prophecies — when Judgement Day comes. He’s a kind of debt-collector. A guy who would judge these kinds of people who did evil and would lose their soul. The Shadowmaker is a colorful character and that’s why I chose not to use Adrian (official band mascot) for that.”

The album is released as a limited first edition in a black jewel case with silver printing and slipcase plus a 40 minute bonus DVD with a making of and a track by track commentary by Rock N' Rolf. The double gatefold LP comes with printed innersleeves and clear vinyl. There is also a boxset limited to 1,000 copies worldwide. It contains two LPs, the black jewel case with the DVD, a poster, a sticker, a postcard and a 30 page book in LP size about the history of the band.
