Richmond Times-Dispatch is reporting:

Thousands of fans signed onto an online vigil and more than 100 massed on Brown's Island in support of the jailed singer of LAMB OF GOD, the Richmond, Virgiania-based Grammy-nominated heavy metal band.

Blythe has been held in Prague since June 27, when he was charged with manslaughter in the death of a fan who died at a Lamb of God show in May 2010. Blythe is alleged to have thrown the fan from the stage after the fan repeatedly climbed on stage while the band was performing.

He posted $200,000 bail but is being held in jail pending a process in the Czech judicial system that allows negotiation between prosecutor and judge after bail is posted.

"This really brings it home," said Lamb of God guitar player Willie Adler, who had a quiet presence during the afternoon program. "It's nice to see all different walks of life here. It's not just long-haired metal fans."

Tommy Streat, a friend of Blythe, organized the event and spent the afternoon getting people to sign words of encouragement on poster boards and taping video greetings on his iPad.
