Seymour Duncan Pickups and Stompboxes recently conducted an interview with FIREWIND/OZZY OSBOURNE guitarist Gus G., where he talks about his recently wrapped Ozzy & Friends tour with OZZY OSBOURNE, Firewind’s new album Few Against Many, and more. Excerpts can be found below:

Seymour Duncan: How was the tour with Ozzy And Friends?

Gus G.: “It was an unbelievable experience! Not only having these legends on stage and jamming with some of my idols, but there was a very good vibe on the tour and everyone seemed to enjoy it very much. Of course as a guitar player it doesn’t get any better jamming with rock icons like Zakk Wylde and Slash!”

Seymour Duncan: Congratulations on the new record. How did you approach the recording of Few Against Many – was there a particular direction you wanted to take this album in?

Gus G.: “Thanks! The whole idea was to make a heavier record with lots of guitar. There’s lots of more riffing compared to the previous records we made and I feel it contains my most mature, but also most technical playing I’ve ever recorded. Strange combination one might think, but there was room for shredding as much as there was for melody. I’m very pleased with the final outcome and it was a very focused and relaxed album for me to do.”
