According to Chile's Powermetal.cl, an amazing and unprecedented event in Chile, and also in EPICA’s ten-year career, marked the show of the Dutch band last night (September 26th) in Teatro Caupolicán, Santiago. In the middle of the concert a fan of the band asked his girlfriend to marry him, moving the two thousand people in the theater and also the musicians.

Right after the song 'Sancta Terra' was finished, Mark Jansen told the audience that they have something special to do, then he called a person from the audience called Roberto (Castillo) to come on stage. “Well, I think you have something important to say”, said the guitar player, handing on the microphone to Roberto. The guy started to speak and told the audience that he had met a woman at a previous Epica show, and that woman later on became “the love of my life”, he said. After some other moving words that the audience followed with attention, he named and invited his girlfriend, Cynthia Oyarzún, who came on stage from the audience by jumping the fence. He embraced and kissed her; he knelt down and asked in English: “would you marry me?”

The entire audience immediately burst into applause with those words. The girl could barely contain her tears and answered “yes”. All Epica members were impressed and happy for the whole situation. They hugged both strongly, while the audience sang something (ídolo, ídolo) to congratulate Roberto. Even Simone Simons, who was backstage at that moment, came on stage (with tears in her eyes actually) to congratulate the couple and wish them “love, luck and a lot of sex.”
