Virginia-based melodic tech-death metal masters ARSIS have checked in with and update on their forthcoming fifth album, Unwelcome, expected early next year via Nuclear Blast.

Says the band: "Unwelcome is almost finished being mixed, after which we'll get a sample of how the mastered album will sound. It doesn't sound polished, and we love that. When we have a firm grasp on when this motherfucker will come out, we'll post."

Earlier this summer, Riddickart's Mark Riddick updated his Facebook page with a preview of the digipak artwork layout for Unwelcome.

Arsis started tracking drums for the release on June 7th with new drummer/longtime session member, Shawn Priest. The album was tracked at Audiohammer Studios in Florida with producer Mark Lewis (THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER, WHITECHAPEL, DEVILDRIVER, DEICIDE, SIX FEET UNDER).

Formed in 2000 by Berklee prodigies James Malone and Mike Van Dyne, Arsis has grown a strong and steady following for their unique intellectual brand of melodic death metal through various lineup changes. Recently, Arsis guitarist Nick Cordle was tapped to replace Christopher Amott in the Swedish supergroup ARCH ENEMY.

Starve For The Devil was released in North America on February 9th and debuted at #13 on the Billboard Heatseekers chart, which lists the best-selling albums by new and developing artists who have never appeared in the Top 100 of The Billboard 200.
