SCALE THE SUMMIT - New Album Underway
October 25, 2012, 12 years ago
Progressive instrumentalists SCALE THE SUMMIT have begun working on their next album, the follow-up to their 2011 release, The Collective. A spring 2013 release is expected.
Guitarist Chris Letchford announced the following: "We just started work on our next album. The material we have written so far is definitely pushing us into new territory. Very excited to see what we create! It's been a lot of fun writing these songs with our new bassist, Mark Michell. He is a very skilled and talented guy, so these songs will definitely be our best yet! Looking forward to getting them all finished and recorded so we can get out there and play them live. Keep an eye out for videos and studio updates through our YouTube channel."
In the meantime, the band will continue to post play-through videos for each song off of The Collective on a weekly basis. You can view the first video, which features Michell playing the song 'The Levitated', below:
Scale The Summit have been no stranger to the road over the past few years. Since the release of their 2009 breakthrough Carving Desert Canyons, the band has played alongside nearly every big name in modern progressive metal, including DREAM THEATER, PERIPHERY, THE CONTORTIONIST, PROTEST THE HERO, CYNIC, DEVIN TOWNSEND and BTBAM, in addition to inviting up-and-coming acts like TODAY I CAUGHT THE PLAGUE and TRIOSCAPES to join them on their headlining runs.
