German progressive death metal titans OBSCURA have just released a guitar tab book for their 2011 album, Omnivium. The tab book features all of the rhythm and lead guitar tabs from all 9 songs on the album in addition to extensive liner notes written by guitarists Steffen Kummerer and Christian Muenzer. The two renowned guitarists also put together a video lesson for the song 'Vortex Omnivium', which can be seen below:

The tab book is available exclusively via Obscura's online merch store here. The band’s previously released Cosmogenesis tab book is also still available via Relapse in limited quantities here.

Guitarist/Vocalist Steffen Kummerer commented on the release of the book: "After the huge success of the tablature book for our second album Cosmogenesis we received a never-ending flood of e-mails asking if we will release a book for Omnivium as well. We heard you and within the last couple of months the official tablature book for Omnivium took shape. 220 pages of shredding, 9 songs of pure progressive death metal including all lead & rhythm guitar parts. The songs are rearranged for two guitars, so you're able to play each song within a band context. For Omnivium we decided to release the guitar transcriptions only. For the next album we plan to release a separate bass & drum instructional book as well , thick as a bible."

Obscura recently announced a special 10th Anniversary show this December in Landshut, Germany. This one night only event will take place on December 15th at Alte Kaserne with special guests DARK FORTRESS, HOKUM and ILLEGIMITATION, an incarnation of the band’s original lineup, who play their first demo in its entirety.

Steffen Kummerer commented on the upcoming anniversary show: “After years of recording, touring and building up a loyal fanbase around the world we invite all of our friends and fans to our 10 year anniversary show in Landshut, Germany. We celebrate the end of the Omnivium World Tour in the same city where it started early 2011. To make this event something special we reformed the original lineup of Obscura for a short set, playing the full Illegimitation demo as a whole. While Dark Fortress and Hokum share a long history of links with Obscura, it seems almost self-evident to have both booked for 10 Years Obscura – A Decade Of Progressive Death Metal. Let’s make this a great evening for everyone.”

Obscura have also announced their first ever Latin American appearance, this December in Mexico City. This special one-off show will take place on December 8th at Circo Volador with Portugal’s MOONSPELL.

Steffen Kummerer commented on the upcoming appearance: "We are proud to announce our very first show in Mexico City after almost 10 years of playing death metal! This is the first show in Latin America for Obscura and our fan base in Mexico is just incredible. Since there were rumors spread about this single show we receive every day more and more messages from fans if this is going to be true. We can confirm the concert with Portugal's finest, Moonspell, and make this a special show for everyone. We are looking forward to playing for you!"

Additionally, Obscura are about to celebrate their 10th anniversary with a string of shows in their native Germany. More details will be announced shortly.
