T&N; vocalist/bassist Jeff Pilson (FOREIGNER, ex-DOKKEN) is featured in a new interview with BW&BK;'s Carl Begai discussing the T&N; debut, Slave To The Empire. In the excerpt below Pilson comments on having vocalist SEBASTIAN BACH on the record singing the Dokken classic 'Alone Again':

“They’re friends, and they’re guys that we knew would do justice to the Dokken material,” Pilson says of bringing in Doug Pinnick (KING'S X), Tim "Ripper" Owens (ex-JUDAS PRIEST), Sebastian Bach (ex-SKID ROW) and Robert Mason (WARRANT, ex-LYNCH MOB). “We really wanted to respect our legacy and show that it’s something we’re really proud of. We wanted to give the songs a fresh coat of paint.”

If you were ever a fan of the song ‘Alone Again’, Bach’s rendition is particularly noteworthy. He plays it straight and brings the singular intensity of his ‘18 And Life’ and ‘I Remember You’ days to the table.

“I know! I was blown away. And you know, when Sebastian came in he was very sick. He had a cold but he came in and… wow… he nailed it. In fact, there were spots where I asked him if he wanted to try something else and maybe go off a little bit, but he wanted to stay true to the original out of respect. I thought that was a real sign of maturity on his part that he felt comfortable doing that. I thought that was great.”
“You know what it is?” Pilson adds. “It’s a very emotional performance, and I still feel emotional when I hear it. I think Sebastian did an incredible job.”

Slave To The Empire, "offers eight new original songs and four re-recorded classic Dokken songs that feature sensational vocal performances by Tim “Ripper” Owens, Doug Pinnick, Sebastian Bach, and Robert Mason. Add to the mix the hard hitting, multi-talented drumming of Brian Tichy (ex-BILLY IDOL, OZZY OSBOURNE, SLASH) and you’ve got yourself a major dose of awesome!"

“Mick, Jeff and I have been playing together for many years,” states guitarist George Lynch. “When we go way back in time, we always had the most fun when we were just sitting in a room together or up on stage with the three of us playing.”
“Don't think of this as Dokken without Don – that's misleading,” adds Pilson. “Think of it as a band with great chemistry coming up with new music that excites them, and also paying tribute to Dokken music which the members all are heavily invested in emotionally. Don is, and will always be, the singer of Dokken and an invaluable part of the Dokken chemistry.”
