CAYNE / Ex-LACUNA COIL Guitarist Claudio Leo Passes Away

CAYNE/ex-LACUNA COIL guitarist Claudio Leo has passed away. A message at Cayne's Facebook page simply states: "Goodbye Claudio. Rest in peace, brother."
Lacuna Coil vocalist Cristina Scabbia has posted the following: "It's with deep sadness that I inform you all that our dear friend and ex-guitar player Claudio Leo left us. My deepest condolences to his family, close friends and the band Cayne.
You will always be remembered for your strength and positivity. We love you, Claudio."
The cause of death has not yet been reported and no other information is currently available.
Claudio Leo played with Lacuna Coil from 1995 - 1998 (including a performance on the band's demo under the moniker Ethereal and the 1998 self-titled EP). Leo was a founding member of gothic rock act Cayne, formed in 1999. Cayne will release their self-titled sophomore album on February 14th.
