In the video footage below, guitarist Vivian Campbell (DEF LEPPARD, ex-DIO) chats with Frankie DiVita of 96.7 KCAL Rocks at last weekend's NAMM (National Association Of Music Merchants) convention, at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, CA. He talks about the upcoming Def Leppard residency at The Hard Rock Cafe in Las Vegas, as well as his reunion with his former Dio bandmates, with whom he formed the new group, LAST IN LINE.
In regards to Last In Line's tour plans, Campbell reveals: "We're gonna do some regional U.S. warm-up shows in the early summer and we're gonna be doing festivals in Europe this summer."
Listen to Vivian talk Def Leppard, Last In Line and more in the interview below:
Back in 2012, Campbell revealed plans to perform with original Dio members, stating: "I met up with the original Dio band guys (drummer) Vinny Appice, (bassist) Jimmy Bain and (keyboardist) Claude Schnell. Now that I've brushed-up on how to play those solos again, we're planning to jam some more and plan to do some gigs, too."
Named Last In Line, the group are joined by singer Andrew Freeman (HURRICANE, LYNCH MOB).
An update earlier this week from Campbell states: "I'm excited for the next Last In Line rehearsal this Monday evening, but I'm even more excited that we finally have tour dates! We're working out the details, but I should have some tour news to announce soon. Meanwhile, I'm still trying to figure out how to play 'I Speed At Night'; it's amazing how you can forget how to play your own songs."
In addition to 'I Speed At Night', other tracks that Last In Line have been rehearsing include 'Egypt', 'Invisible', 'Shame On The Night', 'Holy Diver', 'Stand up And Shout', 'Don't talk to Strangers', 'Last in Line', 'Caught in the Middle', 'Straight through the Heart' and 'We Rock'.
Stay tuned for updates.
