In a new blog update, ONWARD/GODLESS RISING guitarist TOBY KNAPP discusses his struggle for the Onward back catalog to be issued on vinyl, and the discovery of "a lengthy EP's worth of unheard Onward material from 2002 unearthed with tons of live video footage".

An excerpt follows:

"It's been going on for months now; My ambition to see some vinyl released, specifically for my work with Onward. Unfortunately, I have no rights to the Onward catalog because of poor "instant gratification" choices in younger days and therefore to see any Onward album released on LP has to involve a third party. A fantastic label in Germany has been trying to secure the rights for limited pressings of Onward's first two releases for Century Media, Evermoving and Reawaken respectively. This process seems to be a bit of a strain however I'm not pointing fingers at any third party/label. Sometimes deals and reaching agreements can take, in my experience, up to a year. So the good news is although the vinyl for Onward's CM recordings isn't in complete impossibility mode (yet), it may require a wait. I have faith that the fan/label owner will do his best. It then occured to me that there are parts of Onward that are untouchable."

Knapp recently announced the titles of the nine tracks to appear on his forthcoming solo album, Static Warfare. They are as follows:

'Static Warfare'

'Weaponology'

'The Impossibility of Reason'

'X Class Flare'

'Plasma Spheroid'

'Not If But When'

'Trashed Radiation Shield'

'The Arrival Of Polaris'

'The Doomsday Clock'

Knapp recently stated the following about the release: "When I began writing the album the idea I had in mind was a totally uplifting melodic guitar instrumental album, something an Eric Johnson fan would like. As I finished I realized it's probably, unintentionally, going to be one of darkest and most abrasive "instrumental" albums out there. What I write just naturally comes out dark, the happy shred "guitar boy" disappeared long ago".
