Brazilian drum monster Raphael Saini (CHAOSWAVE, ONE MACHINE, STEVE SMYTH) has been confirmed for studio sessions for the Wagnerian Opera Metal project, LYRAKA.

The composer and lead guitarist for the project, Andy DiGelsomina, issued this statement: "First off, Jasmine Lyraka Aliara and I must mention our high regard of George Kollias of NILE, both as a drummer and person; George made an awesomely classy move referring us Raphael. His words were (quote): 'THIS is THE drummer you want', and it became quickly apparent to us just how true that is. Raphael is considered one of the most talented and eclectic drummers in the world, having recorded and performed in the progressive, power, groove, and even classic rock genres as well as extreme metal. He even came up with exciting ideas like posting a video diary (beginning in May) of his playing the Lyraka material, as well as some extra performance goodies that we think Lyraka fans will really like."

Due to performing commitments within the Lyraka camp, the upcoming Sonata Sirena CD has been moved up to October 9th.

DiGelsomina states: "We are very sorry that this album has taken so long, but trust us we are doing everything we can to make this a terrific album from top to bottom. We can't thank our fans enough for their support, so many people have rallied for us."

Lyraka fans can expect a single, entitled 'Lyraka (On Dragon's Wings)', featuring Graham Bonnet (RAINBOW, MSG, ALCATRAZZ), within the next few months.

DiGelsomina previously stated: "Also featured are the stunning vocal talents of Mark Boals (YNGWIE MALMSTEEN, ULI JON ROTH), Al Atkins (HOLY RAGE, JUDAS PRIEST), Liz Vandall (Uli Jon Roth, SAHARA), and Robert Lowe (CANDLEMASS, SOLITUDE AETERNUS). Four new songs and one from 2006, 'The Chromatic Fantasy'. Once again, we bow to your support."
