WARDRUNA Release Live Video For New ‘Helvegen’ Track

Norwegian Viking folk music constellation WARDRUNA - which features multi-instrumentalist Einar "Kvitrafn" Selvik, Gaahl (ex-GORGOROTH, GOD SEED), and vocalist Lindy Fay Hella - performed at the medieval/fantasy festival Castlefest in the Netherlands last August.

The band have released another live video from the performance, for the song ‘Helvegen’ (also featured on the group's new album, Yggdrasil). The new clip, as well as a previously released video for the track 'Bjarkan', can be seen below:

Wardruna's second album, Yggdrasil, will be released in Norway on March 15th, throughout Europe on March 25th, and in North America on April 2nd, via Indie Recordings. Yggdrasil is the follow-up to 2009's Gap var Ginnunga, and is the second album in the group's planned Runaljod trilogy, based on the interpretation of the runes of the elder futhark.

Wardruna's music is featured in History Channel's new TV series, Vikings.

Wardruna and Indie Recordings have licensed songs both from the previous and upcoming album and Wardruna will be featured in several episodes of the series. The US premiere of Vikings was March 3rd on History Channel, and in Nordic countries on March 4th on HBO.

Vikings is a historical fiction television series filmed in Ireland, created by Michael Hirst and produced for the American cable television channel History. The series is loosely based upon the reign of Viking King Ragnar Lodbrok.
