March 11, 2013, 11 years ago
KROKUS have announced that their new album, Dirty Dynamite (out via Sony Music as a digital download, regular CD and limited edition double vinyl), has hit #1 in their homeland of Switzerland.
Dirty Dynamite chart positions:
#1 - Switzerland
#17 - Germany
#29 - Greece
#41 - Sweden
Read what founder, producer and bassist Chris Von Rohr had to say:
Q: Congratulations to #1 in the Swiss charts. Did you expect this success?
A: "One should never be too sure. We have spent a year working on this album, the band is in top form. We thank our loyal fans that they have supported and rewarded us with this. Cheers!
Q: How will you celebrate?
A: "On the concert stages worldwide with a fiery power set. This is our party. It will be big and loud, I promise!"
Q: What can the fans expect at your concerts?
A: "A band that has fun with what they are doing. A rock party full of song nuggets spanning over more than 30 years of Krok'n'Roll. We will start concerts in support of the new album in Switzerland and the first five shows are called The Close Contact Tour, because we play in smaller venues where we are in arms length from our fans. Four of the five shows are already sold out, however, you can still get tickets for the second show at the Volkshaus in Zurich on May 3rd."
Q: Why is your style of hard rock still successful even after almost 40 years?
A: "Because it is honest and handmade and forms a counterpoint to all this computer generated, sterile pop music rustle, which can be heard on most music radio programs these days."
Q: Looking back, did you expect or could you imagine that you still would be rocking today?
A: "There was a time where we all doubted to ever getting back together. That makes it that much sweeter to watch what's happening now right in front of our eyes. Musically and humanly."
Q: What does KROKUS do better than any of the other aging rockers?
A: "We have improved steadily in recent decades. And that is hard work, of course. Together we are a force. We can easily keep up with anyone on an international level. This is illustrated by the positive response we have received from around the world on our newest release Dirty Dynamite."
Q: How much longer do you want to rock on?
A: "As long as the gods of health & well-being allow us. We all are still well and ready to go full power, hallelujah!"
Q: What is your biggest dream?
A: "May it continue to go on like this for a while. And in celebration of our 40th anniversary in 2015 a brilliant live album."
Q: And your life's motto?
A: "Think big, but pay attention to details. To fight full-heartedly what one believes in and most importantly to never give up!"
