Singer Ricky Warwick - "Tomorrow Is The Last Show That THIN LIZZY Will Be Playing For Quite Some Time"
March 15, 2013, 11 years ago
After a very successful two-year run with the current line-up, THIN LIZZY have made a decision last October not to release a new album under the Thin Lizzy name. Thus the birth of the BLACK STAR RIDERS. The band stressed at the time that they may still perform as Thin Lizzy and have been opening up for KISS' Australian Monster 2013 tour with MÖTLEY CRÜE. The final show on the trek is tomorrow night (March 16th) at Virgin Australia Stadium in Mackay, Australia.
Singer Ricky Warwick checks in: "Tomorrow is the last show that Thin Lizzy will be playing for quite some time. I would like to take this opportunity to say from the bottom of my heart how much of a privilege, honor and dream come true this experience has been. To have spent the last three years being part of such a fantastic legacy has been amazing. I would like to thank Darren Wharton (keyboards) and Brian Downey (drums) for their musicianship and friendship and wish them all the best in all their future endeavours. I would to thank all of you out there for your past and continued support. And of course Mr. Phil Lynott for letting me stand beside your shoes, you have taught me so much.
The passion, soul and intensity of these great songs will continue along with the passion, soul and intensity of the new songs as we go forward..... with Scott (Gorham), Marco (Mendoza), Damon (Johnson), Jimmy (DeGrasso) and myself....Vive La Black Star Riders!! Are you ready ?"
Black Star Riders recently announced All Hell Breaks Loose as the title of their debut album on Nuclear Blast Entertainment, which will be released worldwide on the following dates:
May 21st – Japan
May 22nd - Sweden
May 24th – Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Finland, Norway, Australia
May 27th – UK, France, BeNeLux, Poland, Czech Republic, Denmark, Spain, Portugal, Hungary, Greece, Ireland
May 28th – US, Canada, Italy, South America
About the origin of the album title, frontman Ricky Warwick states: “I was watching a documentary about World War II bombers and saw the name painted on the side of one of the aircraft. The name just resonated with me and it seem to encapsulate the turmoil that we, as a society, are currently experiencing. The past few years have been such a wild ride and now with the release of the album, it sounded like a bad-ass album title that summed up what Black Star Riders is all about.”
Produced and mixed by the legendary Kevin Shirley (LED ZEPPELIN, IRON MAIDEN, AEROSMITH, RUSH), the track listing for All Hell Breaks Loose is:
'All Hell Breaks Loose'
'Bound For Glory'
'Kingdom Of The Lost'
'Bloodshot'
'Kissin’ The Ground'
'Hey Judas'
'Hoodoo Voodoo'
'Valley Of The Stones'
'Someday Salvation'
'Before The War'
'Blues Ain't So Bad'
The album will be released as a standard CD and also as a special edition digi-pak featuring a bonus track 'Right To Be Wrong' and a Making of DVD.
