UNISONIC drummer Kosta Zafiriou recently fielded questions from the band's official fanclub. Check out the Q&A; below:

Q: Who had the idea to create Unisonic (or to make something together with vocalist Michael Kiske) and when was this?

Kosta: "Unisonic was my idea. I was in contact with Michael for several years before, and we´ve been talking about doing something together. When he felt the time is right to join a real band again we started to plan. He liked Dennis' (Ward/bass) work as a producer and songwriter on the PLACE VENDOME albums, and it was clear that the three of us would be a team. It was Dennis who suggested Mandy Meyer on the guitars, and we started working on music together and played a couple shows in 2010. After the AVANTASIA tour Michael came back with the idea to have Kai in the band, and here we are!"

Q: Do you think there are some more special activities/promotion things needed especially in Germany to make Unisonic more popular?

Kosta: "Of course, not only in Germany, but all over the world rock fans need to know that there is a new band out there with Michael on the vocals - but I think the best promotion was the first record, and the second will be even stronger."

Q: GAMMA RAY have recently announced that their album's release will be delayed until January 2014. Do you think that this will affect the recording/release plans for the second Unisonic album? Is there a possibility that the album will not be released before Unisonic's 2014 tour?

Kosta: "It was planned from the beginning on that Kai focuses on GammRay 2013 and we release the second Unisonic album in 2014. If Gamma Ray now delay until January 2014, of course this will influence the release date on Unisonic as well. I can´t say any details until I now the exact plans, but timing is a challenge in this band with the activities we all have!"
