SIX FEET UNDER Part Ways With Drummer Kevin Talley; Replacement Announced
May 30, 2013, 11 years ago
SIX FEET UNDER have parted ways with drummer Kevin Talley. However, the transition for the new drummer will be near-seemless, as he is a former band member of bassist Jeff Hughell. Marco Pitruzzella has officially joined the ranks of Six Feet Under and will make his debut appearance with the band this Saturday in Memphis, TN at Scion Rock Fest.
Chris Barnes discusses the lineup change: "I'm proud to announce a new addition to the ranks of Six Feet Under. Replacing drummer Kevin Talley is our new friend and cohort, Marco Pitruzzella. Marco has worked with Jeff Hughell in their former band, BRAIN DRILL, and is such an amazing talented and great guy. I'm very excited having him in the band and can't wait to take the stage with Marco this Saturday in Memphis for Scion Rock Fest! It was good working with Kevin Talley for the past couple of years, but we are very ready and extremely focused on moving the band forward with a new, more stable and permanent lineup for writing as well as touring. Be prepared to be shredded! See you all soon!"
Six Feet Under are currently preparing for their next round of tour dates in support of Unborn. As previously announced, DECREPIT BIRTH and CANNABIS CORPSE will be joining them on this tour. Additionally, up-and-coming act DEALEY PLAZA will open the show. The tour begins July 10th in Houston, TX and VIP bundles are available at this location. Bundles include: ticket to the show, Six Feet Under shirt, limited Hell In July poster, and a back stage pre-show hang with Chris Barnes.
Barnes comments: "Hello, all you sick fucks! Just wanted to say hello and let all you maniacs know what we've got planned for this year. June 1st we will be in Memphis, TN for the Scion festival with WHITECHAPEL and a whole bunch of other awesome bands, so that's going to be insane. Then, in the middle of June, we will be heading over to Europe for three festival dates. One of which I'm really excited and can't wait to take the stage on: HELLFEST in France! Looking forward to it big time - that date is on June 23, which leads me up to the month of July with our headlining USA tour - Hell in July! Summer tours in the US are always a blast, and this one is set up for sheer devastation with opening bands Decrepit Birth, Cannabis Corpse and Dealey Plaza!"
"I would just like to take this time to say and send a personal message to those in Denver, CO as well as Seattle, WA: to Whom it may concern, you may want to stock up and/or possibly grow twice as much cannabis as you have been… because once SFU and Cannabis Corpse roll into those towns, the sheer magnitude of smoking may - 1. Drain the cannabis supply of those two said cities or 2. Possibly cause low cloud formations. Fog lights should be used on all vehicles to and from the concert.""On a side note, I'm super excited to have the opening band Dealey Plaza join us. They are a really killer new band and put a on a ferocious live show. Drumming for Dealey Plaza is my nephew, Ryley Dipaola. He beats the shit out of the drums, and it makes me really, really proud to have my nephew on the road with me! I'm more proud than I can say about that, so I hope everyone will come out to the shows and support all these great musicians and great bands that are on tour with us this summer for Hell in July! And we will see everyone else real soon! Lots more tour dates to be announced in the coming months, so stay sick and twisted!"
