Is the music business fun? Sometimes, but it's an endurathon. Weariness! Frustration! Occasional transcendence! In other words, it's like golf.

Songwriter, guitarist, and golfer Scott Gorham of hard rock super group BLACK STAR RIDERS had the opportunity to consider the comparison (amid the threat of rattlesnakes) with veteran Los Angeles journalist and fellow golfer Greg Burk in and exclusive interview for MetalJazz.com.

"I don't look at golf as a sport," says Gorham, exhaling from the vapor cigarette he calls his digital crack pipe. "It's a learned skill, a discipline." Like playing guitar? "Yeah, actually. But I sweat a lot more when I play guitar."

Gorham goes on to discuss his joys over the band’s debut album, All Hell Breaks Loose, the relationship between Irish and country music and the feel behind Black Star Riders’ songwriting, and the ultimate motivation behind why he’ll continue to golf.

Black Star Riders recently released the official video for 'Hey Judas', taken form the band's new album, All Hell Breaks Loose. The video was filmed on May 27th with Northern Irish photographer, music video director and typographical designer Mark Hylands at The Marshall Theatre in Milton Keynes.

A video message from Hylands about the 'Hey Judas' clip:

'Hey Judas':

All Hell Breaks Loose entered the charts worldwide in the following countries:

Sweden: # 15

UK: # 25

Germany: # 29

Finland: # 38

Switzerland: # 63

Ireland: # 64

Wallonia: # 107

France: # 122

Belgium: # 163

In an interview with BraveWords scribe Carl Begai, singer Ricky Warwick inists that at no point during the writing and recording for All Hell Breaks Loose did the band consciously reference THIN LIZZY's previous albums. There was no push/pull to channel a specific era of Lizzy's past and no second guessing the new material.

"We wanted to keep the Lizzy spirit and vibe, and write in that vein. That was the only thing we were really conscious of. If anything, Scott was going the other way and we were like, 'Dude, you can't do that; stop denying who you are...' (laughs). A song like 'Bound For Glory' is Thin Lizzy, totally, but songs like 'Bloodshot' or 'Valley Of The Stones' are, for me, quite far removed from Lizzy. It's all about trying to strike a balance, but we didn't overthink it too much. We wanted to write catchy songs, big choruses, really melodic, and great guitar riffs."

All Hell Breaks Loose is available as a regular CD, a special edition digi-pak featuring the bonus track, 'Right To Be Wrong', and a Making-Of DVD, along with digital download.
