In support of their UK #1 album, 13, BLACK SABBATH guitar legend Tony Iommi spoke to the BBC's HARDtalk earlier today (Wednesday, June 26th). When asked about whether the band had performed in a way that played up to their Satanic image, Iommi told HARDtalk's Shaun Ley they had "dabbled" in the occult in the early days, but said they had never been Satanists.

"It was creating music, and that's all I do. I don't try to create anything to destroy people or to upset anybody," he added.

Iommi also discussed the band's past drug use: "If I'd have known, what I know now, I certainly would not have dabbled to that extent. I don't think any of us would."

You can watch the full interview on BBC World News on Wednesday 26 June at 14:30 GMT and 20:30 GMT and on the BBC News Channel on Thursday 27 June at 00:30 BST.
