STRYPER vocalist/guitarist Michael Sweet is featured in a new interview with Legendayr Rock Interviews. An excerpt is available below:

LRI: You have so much going on it almost sounds physically impossible between the touring, the new album, the solo album, the side projects and the book. Does it ever feel like too much?

Michael: "I am enjoying it and excited about it all. The solo album is something. I am really excited about and can’t wait for people to hear, it will be released by Big3 Records it’s been done for quite some time and has a lot of guest appearances from guys like Doug Aldrich, Tony Harnell from TNT is on it on a song called 'Taking On The World Tonight' , Kenny Aronoff is drumming on it and it really has some amazing songs. Some of the songs are going to make people say 'Why didn’t you use that song for Stryper?' It is a full on band album with the possible working title, 'I’m Not Your Suicide'. I am really, really proud of the solo album. It’s only taken so long because it’s coming out at the same time as the book, which is called Honestly which covers my time in Stryper, my time out of Stryper solo, my time in Boston, losing my wife to cancer, getting Stryper back together and getting remarried. It’s basically been a pretty all encompassing thing and it covers my entire life. In addition to the new Stryper album, the new tour, the book and the solo album I am also going to be touring with George Lynch and T&N; and that will be taking place late fall hopefully."

LRI: I was very happy George allowed me to break that story (laughs). Don (Dokken) seemed a little surprised when I mentioned you doing it.

Michael: "Ok, I’m more interested in hearing Don’s reaction. What did he say?"

LRI: He basically told us that he didn’t think the tour was ever going to happen.

Michael: "Oh, it’s happening. We are planning on doing some rehearsing at the end of September and then going and touring in October. I’m really excited to be asked to be a part of it so if Don’s reading this, it’s definitely happening man. It should be fun to sing those songs. I’m a big DOKKEN fan and there’s no taking away from either side, Don or George and Jeff. Whatever’s happened over the years, disagreements and all of that, I don’t really get into that stuff but none of it takes anything away from the legacy of their classic songs. I just remember Dokken for those great melodies and the great guitar work. You just can’t deny that was amazing music and to be able to go and sing those songs is an honor, it will be fun. I come from a very similar background in terms of the melodies and the riffy hard rock and all of that so I think it will potentially be a very good fit."
