July 3, 2013, 11 years ago
Oklahoma-based death metallers CASCUS have announced the upcoming release of their debut self-titled EP, which will be available on BandCamp July 23rd.
Independently recorded, mixed and mastered in Oklahoma City, the band aims to incorporate fresh elements into the death metal genre. Listeners can pre-order the new CD or download the MP3s here. Mixed and mastered by the band's own Cameron Conyer, the Cascus EP combines exotic textures, a rich assortment of instrumental acrobatics and a diversity of soundscapes that is truly unlike anything to come out of America's heartland.
"We worked very hard to put this together," offers guitarist and vocalist Jay Gleason "We wanted to do proper justice to the music, give it a chance to become what we wanted it to be. Our influences are very diverse, and that definitely comes through."In support of the new EP, the band is planning a series of shows in Oklahoma and the surrounding areas.
