Anne Erickson of Gannett recently caught up with SEVENDUST guitarist John Connolly before a gig in Michigan, and Connolly gave an early word that the band is planning to record an acoustic EP in early 2014 and go out on an acoustic tour.

“There’s a lot of talk, a lot of buzz going around about another acoustic tour,” he said in the video interview. “We’ve always wanted to do one, but we really don’t want to do it without a record, so we may be hopping in at some point to do some kind of an acoustic EP.”

He added, “Ideally, it would be nice if we could get it wrapped up before the end of the year, but I think realistically, it might be January, February, March, somewhere around there that we’ll hop in for a few weeks. Probably revisit some older songs and then do a handful of newer songs that we can do on the acoustic thing. So that’s kind of off a little ways, but it’s definitely something we want to focus on.”
