German thrash metal titans KREATOR were on hand for the theatrical premiere of their DVD/Blu-Ray release, Dying Alive, yesterday (Thursday, August 29th) at famous theatre Lichtburg in Essen, Germany. The entire band not only made an appearance at the event but also took part in a Q&A; and a signing session afterwards. With more than 500 fans attended the screening, Dying Alive even outnumbered the official premiere of controversial German movie Feuchtgebiete the week before.

Commented mainman Mille Petrozza: "We had a killer night at legendary Lichtburg in Essen yesterday. Thanks to all the fans, friends, buddies and relatives for showing up. When I was just a kid, watching Conan the Barbarian two days in a row, I would have never dreamt of watching a concert movie of my own band on this big screen. Lichtburg is and will ever be the best theatre. Not only in Germany, but worldwide. I also want to thank the organizers of Lichtburg for their awesome support of Essen's metal scene!“

Dying Alive is out today, August 30th, in Europe, September 2nd in the UK and September 3rd in North America via Nuclear Blast.

The DVD/Blu-Ray features the band's sold out homecoming show in Oberhausen, Germany at Turbinenhalle on December 22nd, 2012 after an extensive 45 days European tour in support of their highly successful album Phantom Antichrist. The packed and sweat driven show was filmed by 24 cameras as well as guitar and even mosh pit cams.
