hot flashes news the gates of slumber

Bassist Jason McCash has announced his departure from Indianapolis-based doom metal act THE GATES OF SLUMBER. Jason's statement follows:

"So with a really heavy heart I've decided to leave The Gates Of Slumber. It's nothing at all against Karl (Simon - Guitars, Vocals) and Bob (Fouts - Drums) but I think it's something I have to do at this time. I really hope and wish the best for them and the group.

I am not done with music though I'm leaving TGoS as I have a whole album's worth of material written that was suppose to be part of the next TGoS album that I very much want to see come to life. The material that I have are still in the the same vein as in songs like 'Death March', 'Dragon Caravan' and 'Day Of Farewell'. I plan on still bringing these songs to life but it just wont be under the TGoS banner.

I've spent a massive portion of my life in this band. Living it, cultivating it, breathing it and loving every moment in it. I will miss it and I do look back on what I've helped create with a very proud heart.

I am sorry for this to happen but it is just time for me to leave."

Stay tuned for updates from the band.
