JOE LYNN TURNER Explains Cancelled Chile Dates - "I Gave Up A Major Show Booking In Russia That Would Have Paid Me More Than All These Shows Because I Wanted To Play For The Chilean Fans"

Legendary singers JOE LYNN TURNER (ex-RAINBOW, DEEP PURPLE) and BOBBY KIMBALL (original singer from TOTO) were scheduled to perform live in Chile later this month, but the dates have been cancelled.
Turner explains: "I have decided to post this information out of respect to my fans who deserve the truth. Sorry for the long status update but I am told some of you cannot read NOTES when I post there. So...will post both...
The promoter for these Chilean shows gave me only eight days notice that he was cancelling these concert dates. My flights to South America were paid for in advance. It is also standard business procedure for an artist to keep a deposit paid to the artist if a promoter cancels through no fault of the artist. These agreements are all contracted for in advance. I hope the fans are able to get their tickets refunded. Refund policies are out of my control.
Additionally, I want the South American fans to know that I gave up a major show booking in Russia, that would have paid me more than all (3) three of these shows, because I wanted to play for the Chilean fans. The musicians scheduled to play these shows in Chile also lost money and time. The promoter apparently never researched the events taking place in Chile which conflicted with these shows. Had he done the research, perhaps we could have settled on more suitable dates that would have resulted in more success for all parties concerned.
I hope to schedule concerts in Chile and other South American
countries in the future. However, the rumors about shows in April are not true on my end. The promoter just assumed I was available in April but my management is in discussions with other promoters regarding possible April shows in other countries. Confirmed shows will be posted on my official websites.
I was looking forward to performing in Chile and South American fans are some of my most loyal fans in the entire world. I knew that some were traveling from other countries, such as Argentina and Brazil. I was looking forward to these shows. These cancellations were a huge disappointment for me."
