October 25th was declared SAMMY HAGAR Day by the city of Lowell, MA in appreciation for the Hagar Family Foundation contribution to the local food bank, The Merrimack Valley Food Bank. A gift of $5,000 was presented to the food bank, and the clip below features the official announcement of Sammy Hagar Day:

As a child, Hagar knew what it was to feel hunger and is committed to preventing others from experiencing it by donating to food relief agencies like the Merrimack Valley Food Bank that has provided food for 60,000 individuals monthly through a network of food pantries in 32 communities in the region since 1991.

Hagar recently scored the 11th Billboard Top 25 album of his career when his new album, Sammy Hagar & Friends, debuted at #23 on the US Billboard 200. The album marks the Rock & Roll Hall of Famer’s highest charting solo album in 18 years, since 1997’s Marching To Mars.

Sammy Hagar & Friends also scored the #7 Rock Album and #5 Independent Album release for Frontiers Records this week.
