Canadian vocalist/guitarist/producer DEVIN TOWNSEND (ex-STRAPPING YOUNG LAD) is featured in a new interview with Rockadia.com. ASn excerpt is available below:

On the upcoming Casualties Of Cool record: “I’ve got the second disc to put together, but the first one is pretty much done. It’s really really, really good.”

On old recordings: “As soon as it’s done I forget about it. And so up to the point where I can put the seal of approval on it, it’s my world and then as soon as that seal is on it, it doesn’t exist anymore. So when I think about all the past records that I’ve put all this energy into - Alien or Infinity, or The Hummer…or any of these things - they’re my world. Then as soon as they’re done I never hear them again…..it’s an interesting sort of divorce period that happens at the end of the record. Casualties Of Cool is right there now, it was the last couple of years and now I’m sort of experimenting as to which direction things wanna go. Casualties Of Cool is really great, I really love it, it’s dark and really quiet and…..almost disowned as of now!!”

On collaborating with his band members: “What we’re working on now, is I’m actually collaborating with these guys, and when we get to rehearsal I’m writing with them, for the first time! I want them to be involved and they deserve to be involved .”
