Finnish/American sleaze thrashers TORNADO are currently in the studio working on a new album, entitled Black President. Following is an update from frontman/founder Joey Severance via Metal Shock Finland:

"The second day has passed and all of the drums and Tuomas’ guitars are recorded. Henri has started laying down the bass and the sound is as heavy as King Kong causing massive destruction over Tokyo! Luckily for us, Henri is also familiar with the recording software being used so we were able to continue recording late into the night when everyone went home. If the truth be told, it feels like the inmates taking over the asylum. It’s still boring as hell for me because I don’t have anything to do yet other than to listen to the songs and make sure that everything is correct. Unlike the recording sessions for the Amsterdamn, Hellsinki album, this time I came well prepared with some J’s to help pass the time

Tomorrow morning we will finish the last two bass tracks and then Timo will come in and start his guitars. The songs are finally starting to come alive and for me it’s especially cool to hear the crusty riffs that you wrote while watching the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills (or some shit like that) finally start to feel and sound like actual songs. Some people hate being in the studio but I love it. Another thing about Tornado is that we don’t write anything in the studio. All songs are written, rehearsed and finalized before we enter any recording facility and commit to tape.

After a long day of hard work, it’s time to reward the mind and body with a nice J and hot sauna! The work day starts exactly at 10:00am every morning and goes late into the night. Like they say, it’s a long way to the top if you want to Rock n Roll."
