PHIL ANSELMO (DOWN, PANTERA) is featured in a new interview with College Times discussing his new solo album, Walk Through Exits Only. An excerpt is available below:

“I feel like in live situations, I’m really most comfortable as far as pumping the thing up,” says Anselmo.

Anselmo could play larger theaters or even, maybe, arenas. But he chose to perform in small clubs like Pub Rock Live (in Scottsdale, AZ).

“It’s my choice, man,” he explains. “The smaller the better. It’s fucking real. I don’t prepare for it any differently—not from a musical standpoint, not from anything I’m going to personally do or say or anything like that. Not at all. We just fucking buck up, get in there and jam the set and really that’s how I’ve thrived really over the years. I just go with the flow and feel it out when you get there. And let things be off the cuff. Same old, same old every single night is boring. I let the situation dictate itself and deal with it from now on.”

Anselmo and his band THE ILLEGALS - guitarist Marzi Montazeri (SUPERJOINT RITUAL), bassist Steve Taylor (16 HORSEPOWER, WOVEN HAND), and Jose Manual "Blue" Gonzalez (WARBEAST) on drums - are currently on the road in the midst of Leg Two of their Technicians Of Distortion tour. The trek, which kicked off January 10th in Houston, will play intimate rock clubs exclusively, and is in support of Anselmo's first solo album, Walk Through Exits Only, that was released last July, as well as the recently-issued, limited-edition two-song Housecore Horror Fest 10-inch vinyl EP that will be available for purchase on all tour dates.

A fourth promo video for the trek has been released. See all four promo clips below:

Reprising his support slot from leg one will be AUTHOR & PUNISHER, while the avant-garde metal band HYMNS (signed to Anselmo's label Housecore Records) will open all shows.
