The 56th annual Grammy Awards will be presented this Sunday, January 26th at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, CA. The ceremony is going to be broadcast live on CBS starting at 8 p.m. ET/PT.

This will mark DREAM THEATER's second Grammy nomination in three years for best metal performance, and The Canadian Press reports that vocalist James LaBrie thinks his band has "a really, really strong chance of winning."

How about the competition, which includes ANTHRAX, VOLBEAT, KILLSWITCH ENGAGE and heavy-metal pioneers BLACK SABBATH? "I think our only formidable force against us would be Black Sabbath," LaBrie responds. "They've been around for 40 years plus."

Again in the midst of a European tour, dream Theater will skip the Grammys to preserve their sanity but watch from afar.
