METALLICA Guitarist Kirk Hammett Talks History, Influences And "A Timeless Riff" In New Video Interview

The Guitar Center in San Francisco has uploaded a new clip featuring METALLICA's Kirk Hammett:
"Kirk Hammett shared some pretty cool stuff with us in the Guitar Center San Francisco store. History, influences, and even a timeless riff he wrote when he was 16 that is still just as evil and epic to this day..."When Metallica's monolithic statue of Lady Justice detonates and collapses around the band midway through their feature film, Metallica Through The Never, its pieces thud and crash in ways that moviegoers could hear and feel, reports Rolling Stone's Kory Grow.
It's the sort of sensory overload the metal group was going for with the whole film, which follows a roadie on a drug-fueled surrealistic quest to retrieve a bag for the band, as Metallica play a concert to a packed arena.
"We wanted to use the 3-D to bring people up onstage, to give the audience a feeling of immersion and being a part of what was happening," drummer Lars Ulrich tells Rolling Stone.
Now they're hoping fans feel a similar exhilaration from watching it at home. Last week, the group released the movie in a variety of video formats, including 3-D Blu-ray, regular Blu-ray and DVD; one limited-edition version even comes with a piece of the Lady Justice statue.
